Description
Physical therapist practice is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and functional movement potential, within the spheres of promotion, prevention, maintenance, intervention/treatment, habilitation and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being.
Physical therapist practice involves the interaction between physical therapist, patients or clients, families, care givers, other health care providers, and communities, in a process of assessing movement potential and in establishing agreed upon goals and objectives using knowledge and skills unique to physical therapists.
Lahore Medical and Dental College has been affiliated with University of Health Sciences for Bsc. (Hons) Physiotherapy program since 2008. In 2012, The Lahore College of Physiotherapy was founded as a new landmark and started entry level Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) program. The Lahore College of Physiotherapy is housed in a dedicated space, in new and purposely built campus housing the auditorium, lecture halls, faculty offices, management and other facilities. The college is headed by Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Asim, an experienced clinical therapist with international post graduation qualifications and member of American Physical Therapy Association.
The Lahore College of Physiotherapy is supported by a modern and fully equipped physiotherapy department and rehabilitation gymnasium. The staff includes physiotherapists with extraordinary academic and clinical skills with exceptional qualities.
