The institution will continually strive to exceed the expectations of its patients, students, residents, and local community by constantly improving the services it provides with enthusiasm, teamwork and creativity. In doing so, Avicenna Medical College aligns itself to the vision of its Affiliating University, i.e., University of Health Sciences.

MESSAGE FROM CO-CHAIRPERSON AND PRINCIPAL AVICENNA MEDICAL COLLEGE

As a Co-Founder and Co-Chairperson, I have been involved in planning, construction and accreditation of Avicenna Medical College by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and its affiliation with the esteemed University of Health Sciences. It is hearting to see Avicenna Medical College develop, progress and achieve maximum academic excellence in a short period since its inception in 2009. The institution has lived up to its mission of training and producing medical graduates of international students. Two batches have passed out as Doctors, who are serving in the country and abroad and several have opted to post graduates on the road of progress we have achieved the milestone of recognition for FCPS training by College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, establishment of College of Nursing and Institute of Dentistry, Avicenna Medical College in near future, Inshallah.

My position as a Co-Chairperson and Member of Board of Governors of Abdul Waheed Trust, gives me a unique opportunity as a Principal to take quick decisions and student friendly measures, yet managing the high standards of medical education at the campus. The students at Avicenna are provided with an encouraging environment conductive to learning and growth and trained on the pattern of the latest concepts and strategies in medical education. They are groomed on modern lines with due emphasis on the highest standards discipline, medical professionalism, medical and social ethics in conformity to our cultural and religious values. These attributes along with the preference for research and academic program is not the only focal point, various co-curricular activities are planned and designed to give maximum opportunity to the gifted students as soon as they join the college. The various clubs and committees of the students organizes events throughout the academic year which provide an opportunity to the students to enhance their talents and ability for team work. What we have also achieved at Avicenna is the confidence of their parents, who fell satisfied with the conservative atmosphere, high standards of discipline, personalized care and high standards of medical education imparted to the students. Most parents show total contentment once their son or daughter is selected to be a part of ‘Avicenna Family’.

I welcome to the batch of MBBS students to the ever expanding family of Avicenna Medical College where diligent and devoted faculty members are ready to facilitate eager learners to become future professionals and leaders.
