Abu Zafar Institute of Medical Sciences was established in 2006 and started Midwifery Paramedics and Nursing
training programs through its constituents Training Schools namely:
• Atia School of Midwifery
• Atia School of Paramedics
• Atia School of Nursing, LPN / CNA
• Koohi Goth School of Midwifery
• Nursing and Midwifery Tutor Training Program
• Dr. Ruth Pfau College of Nursing.
The Institute was formally inaugurated in November, 2008 by former Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
Above Schools are situated within the Premises of Koohi Goth Hospital at Koohi Goth, Deh Landhi, Bin Qasim Town,
Karachi. It is spread around 16 acre of land with a pleasant green landscape providing all basic necessities for its
students including Hostel facilities with free Mess service providing them three time meal without any charges. Courses
offered at the above schools are absolutely free of cost.
The Institute is run under the umbrella of Zafar and Atia Foundation Charitable Trust. The institute is well-equipped to
provide quality education and training at affordable cost.
The attached clinical areas for the practical training of students for the BS and BS(MT) programs i.e. Clinical Laboratory
Sciences, Operation Theatre Sciences, Cardiac Perfusion Sciences are as under:
1. Koohi Goth Hospital, Deh Landhi, Karachi
2. National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease, Karachi
