Vice Chancellor Message Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan

Description

Message From Vice Chancellor
I am honoured and privileged to be appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM). It is a huge and humbling responsibility and I pray that I fulfil my duties to the fullest expectations of all our stake holders, specially our students and parents.
AWKUM has tremendous opportunities to becoming a great educational institution. It is my firm belief that with the implementation of comprehensive transformational programme supported by our great team and partners, we can become a beacon of outstanding education in Pakistan and beyond. I am assuaged by the fact that we have wonderful and vibrant student body, highly qualified academic staff, impressive campuses, and an administration desiring major changes.
With this in mind, my vision for AWKUM is for it to be an outstanding centre for Learning & Teaching and a hub for Research Excellence. During the coming weeks and months, I will be working closely with my leadership teams and partners to formulate strategies and plans to begin work on realising our vision. This will be a significant transformational journey for all our stakeholders. I have complete confidence in the AWKUM family to endeavour on this path. Insha-Allah, together we will achieve great outcomes for our students and stakeholders. The vision will be realised by measuring, and analysing where we are with a view to implementing actions for concrete improvements for the future. My expectations from our staff for achieving this important change will be based on five guiding and unyielding principles: Competence, Integrity, Transparency, Meritocracy and Accountability. Insha-Allah, this focus on creative change will be visible throughout my tenure.
Universities are centres of learning and knowledge, with a view to creating future leaders and members of our society who can inspire, lead, and assist in carving ambitious futures for the next generation. At an individual level, universities develop people who contribute significantly to the national economic, social and technological development through their broader intellectual capital and specific subject expertise. Thus our University has a great responsibility in shaping the future of our region and our nation. As the Vice Chancellor, I recognise this immense responsibility and will exercise my duties with the utmost care, passion, integrity and commitment.
Please join me as we embark on this wonderful journey for creating an outstanding learning environment in AWKUM where our current and future students can flourish and succeed.
 Prof. Dr. Muhammad Khurshid Khan
