Description
The Postgraduate College of Nursing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was established in March 1988. It was engaged in partnership with school of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Sheffield (UK) for twelve long years. Under this partnership programme, the curricula of 13 specialty diploma courses of one year duration were developed. Initially, it started functioning at the School of Nursing, Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) Peshawar. The present building of Postgraduate College of Nursing was inaugurated on 31st August, 1999 funded by Ministry of Women Development & Youth Affairs Government of Pakistan and then taken over by the Government of KP in July, 1999. Since 2012, this college also initiated two degree programs; 2 year Post RN BSN and 4 years Generic BSN degree programs.
This College is equipped with all the latest teaching learning resources, enthusiastic faculty and supporting staff. The Postgraduate College of Nursing is a platform for nurses to achieve the desired outcomes for higher education. The students of PGCN also provided with the opportunity to learn clinical skills in three tertiary care hospitals; Khyber Teaching Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex, and Lady Reading Hospital.
