Dear All, Sahiwal Medical College (SLMC) is one of the prestigious institutions of Punjab situated in the city of Sahiwal. Our institution has grown spectacularly achieving notable success in many directions and reached up to present stage since it was started in 2010. At Sahiwal Medical College, we cater to the needs of students of high quality Medical Education and training and we wish the students to develop as a complete Doctor- full empathy for the suffering humanity. There are two objects of medical education: to heal the sick, and to find new knowledge. Our Medical College leverages the scientific capabilities, expertise and resources to provide medical education focused on preparing physicians for the future. We have a dedicated and highly qualified teaching faculty who at every step are ready to counsel the students. An in-built system of continuous internal assessment helps the students to keep abreast with the teaching and simultaneous self-evaluation. Sports and recreational facilities provide students opportunities to de-stress and relax. There are Well-equipped laboratories; high-tech state of the art facilities, including CT, and ICU at hospital. There is a big library with large number of books and journals. Hostels provide good accommodation facilities; we care for good health and overall development. In the 21st century, with the progress in medical sciences life expecting of people has increased and mortality from infectious diseases have dramatically decreased however the rapid proliferation of technology has produced negative effect on our environment resulting into newer types of lifestyle diseases, posing a great challenge to the medical fraternity. The requirement of doctors for treating the sick and doing research to address these newer disease is increasing all over the world including our country. Sahiwal Medical College was founded keeping in mind the above background and to meet the increasing requirements of medical doctors in Sahiwal Division, who need to be equipped with the latest knowledge and skills. It is a matter of great honor and pride for me to be the principal of SLMC. It enables me to contribute my energies and ideas for nurturing this institution. I also take pride in being part of a faculty that is best equipped to impart the highest standards of quality medical education and training to the medical students, the future healthcare professionals. All our teachers, both in basic and clinical sciences, have the strongest academic background and have vast teaching experience in their respective subjects. Our teaching strategies are in conformity with the guidelines provided by University of Health Sciences (UHS).Our graduates are eligible to appear in USMLE and PLAB examinations for postgraduate qualification and for seeking jobs abroad.
