Army Medical College was established in Rawalpindi in the year of 1977 as a completely residential institute. The college was initially affiliated, for the award of MBBS degree, with Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. The first MBBS course comprising of 100 students graduated in 1981. It became a constituent College of NUST in 1998.Bachelors in Dental Surgery (BDS) classes were started during the same year. This college also has the unique distinction for imparting postgraduate training (MPhil/PhD) in basic medical sciences since 1996 and 2001.
