Pakistan has a unique amalgamation of varying terrain and climatic conditions where different species are used in diverse roles. The agroclimatic conditions are conducive for animal husbandry. Remount veterinary and farm corps of Pak Army is playing a pivotal role in the production of army animals and dairy products. The officers and staff of the corps are well reputed for the profession competency. Army college of veterinary sciences is the Prime instate of the Corps. It has a glorious past since its establishment in 1862 in Pona (India). After partition it was shifted to Pakistan. Medical and veterinary professions are the most prestigious professions playing significant role in the health of a society. Their working harmony with each other is universal and maintenance of health on the Globe is not possible without their collaboration. Universally, concept of the One health one globe is very popular and working to combat the Menair of zoonosis. Knowing the importance of the Concept a veterinary faculty has been the included in NUMS.

Army College of Veterinary Science (ACVS) is the first veterinary institute in the history of Pakistan being a part of a medical university. The college has an animal treasury which does not exist throughout the world. ACVS has maximum number of equines, bovines, ovines, caprines, canines on its campus in the World.

Moreover, the research centres are also having maximum number of animals, infrastructure and trained staff.
