Department of Pharmacy, Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (Abbottabad UST) was established in 2008. The Department of Pharmacy, recognized by Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) is the competent Academic and sole professional Unit of Abbottabad UST.

The Department offers Pharm. D (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree teaching program which is a five years’ Professional Degree Program designed to develop students’ skills in one of the most vital professions and fastest growing field in health care system.

The primary objective of the program is to train the graduates who will have the leadership qualities, up to date knowledge, strong ethical values, honesty, fairness, decency, communication proficiency, writing and social skills that will enable them to pursue their careers in pharmaceutical care in health systems and community environment, pharmaceutical industry, quality systems, academia, research and development. The students are trained such that they possess scientific knowledge and skills which enable them to work with the pace to ensure the quality in the design, manufacturing, distribution and safe & effective use of pharmaceuticals in the society and hospital/clinical settings.

The Course modules, designed by the PCP, duly endorsed by HEC are meant to fulfill the current needs with regard to professionalism, marketability, employability, and entrepreneurship.
